Hi Joanne- I remember HEAL very well!! It was a terrific community based program- so joyful and purposeful!!

It gave me pause to see Wayne and Kathleen- and Mary Anne- time does change us, but time does not change our principles and values!!

My second last stop in Vancouver was with the Healthy Living Program- a rather top down “expert” lead education program- but, it did have a pool of money for community food/activity grants- and the projects were fantastic.

Table Matters in North Vancouver VCH did get $$$ for community driven food security programs-they are still funded today.

All of this work was the result of the Provincial Food Security and Public Health Report we completed which argued the case for VCH immunity driven programs to address food security issues and their sequelae.

Hats off to all of the good people out there that are the real hero’s here- to jump in and move community efforts forward!!! Real change on the food security and food literacy really shifted- yes- a zoom call us a great idea!! Where are we at now, and where do we need to go?? What needs to be done? I’m thinking out loud here.... Corinne
