Hello all,

I'm very excited to share with you that Raj Patel will be speaking at UBC this February. Full details below. Apologies for cross-posting.

UBC Reads Sustainability is proud to present Raj Patel:

How will the world eat in the future?

With a global population of nine billion by 2050, and climate change already taking a toll, how will the world eat in the future?

The food industry and our governments have some ideas - fortifying food, scaling up farms, moving peasants out of agriculture. These ideas compound the problems of the current food system.

Join award winning author, activist, and academic Raj Patel, presented by UBC Reads Sustainability, on February 11th, 2016 as Raj shares some of the best and most surprising innovations to address the future of food. With stories from the world's poorest people - from Peru to Malawi, there's a great deal of innovation to help us imagine how the world can feed itself by 2050.

February 11th 2015

12PM-2PM

UBC AMS Student Nest Great Hall (6133 University Boulevard, UBC Vancouver)
