Kitwanga, Gitxsan Territory, and run by the visionary Dzap’l Gye’a̱win
Skiik (also known as Jacob Beaton) and co-founder Jessica Ouelette. They
were recently recognized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture
Organization as a Canadian Food Heros. See below for more information and

We are excited to announce that *Tea Creek has been selected as Canada’s
Food Hero by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for 2022!!*
October 16th is Word Food Day, we’ll be profiled internationally in 6
different languages. Please feel free to share the news!

World Food Day is tied in with the Sustainable Development Goals. There are
activities for youth and toolkits on the Food Day website. You can preview
