About the event

  *   Friday, October 28, 1pm
  *   Free, and open to the public
  *   Dr. Haiven will present key themes from the book, followed by facilitated Q&A. Snacks will be served.
  *   This is a hybrid event, accessible both in person and on zoom.

In person

  *   Sustainable Food Systems Lab, Room 2001 of Lakehead's PACI campus (Law School Building) in Thunder Bay
  *   Access: There are about 12 steps that need to be either climbed or descended from an elevator-accessible floor to reach the SFS Lab.

It's in our food, our cosmetics, our fuel and our bodies. Palm oil, found in half of supermarket products, has shaped our world. Max Haiven uncovers how the gears of capitalism are literally and metaphorically lubricated by this ubiquitous elixir.
