We are growing: Join our small but mighty team in a leadership role!

The Central Kootenay Food Policy Council is seeking a new Executive
Director. We are seeking an experienced leader, creative fundraiser, and
strategic thinker with strong management skills.

The position is open to anyone who resides within the Central Kootenay.

As the Executive Director, you will have overall strategic, financial, and
operational responsibility for the Council’s staff, programs, expansion,
and the execution of its mission. Duties include fundraising and grant
writing, liaising with Central Kootenay local government, overseeing staff,
and community outreach.  This position requires considerable community
engagement, and food systems expertise, connecting people and ideas to
formulate and resource projects that advance the vision of the Council.

The need for community food security has never been more evident. As the
new Executive Director, you will leverage the widespread interest in food
systems resilience to develop programs and partnerships that will help
contribute to vibrant food systems and food security in the Central
Kootenay.

The position is currently funded for 20 hours / week at a wage range of
$40-50 / hour, depending on qualifications. As the lead fundraiser for the
Council, you will have the opportunity to increase your hours.

The Food Policy Council is committed to fostering diversity within our
Council and region. We welcome those who will contribute to diversifying
our staff including, but not limited to Indigenous People, People of
Colour, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+, and all
genders. The new Executive Director will play a lead role in advancing our
work to transition our Council to a more justice and equity-based practice.
