Hi folks,

Sharing a call for support from Archway Community Services in Abbotsford as
they respond to the flooding and emergency in their region if you/your
organization are in a position to support knowing we're spread across the
territories of so-called BC.

Hello everyone,



As you all are probably aware, the Fraser Valley is experiencing
devastating flooding that has left Chilliwack cut off from the rest of the
province. Currently, our food bank is experiencing supply issues for our
members and our satellites and other community partners. We typically
receive donated foods from three local Save-on Foods, however, we are no
longer receiving these shipments as the stores are being emptied. This is
extremely alarming as we will not be able to provide emergency food to
those who need it most. We are going through our stored warehouse goods
very fast to keep up with the demand.



I am wondering if anyone from this network can connect us with foods
available for donation or purchase that we could either pick-up or have
delivered to our food bank? We would really appreciate any help at this
time!


Any dry food deliveries can be directed to our warehouse located at Unit
#4-2659 Progressive Way, Abbotsford, BC V2T 6H4

Any deliveries requiring refrigeration can be directly delivered to our
Food Bank located at 33914 Essendene Ave, Abbotsford BC V2S 2H8



The hours for staff at the Food Bank are Mon-Thurs 830-4, someone is
usually there earlier for the fresh food recovery.



For donations for our food bank, we are requesting the following to remain
supplied for the current demand:



Canned Vegetables

Canned Meat

Rice

Cooking oil

Dry Pasta

Tomatoes/Pasta Sauce

Cereal

Canned Legumes

Beans/Ravioli/Chili

Dry Soup

Crackers

Canned Fruit

Canned Soup

Kraft Dinner

Meal Helpers

Atta

Dry Red lentils

Dry Chickpeas

Dry Kidney Beans

Indian Tea

Salt

Besan (Chickpea Flour)

White or Brown sugar

Toilet paper

Proteins
