I agree with these talking points! Great work here. (There will be lots of helpful input from such a group as ours and others, in finessing and mobilizing.)

I'm on it!
:) many blessings,
Roz

These are the demands of the People's Coalition to Survive the Climate Food Emergency

As the traditional food systems collapse under the pressure of extreme weather, the struggle for governance and law and order will be increasingly difficult to maintain.

These challenges will be compounded by massive inflow of refugees, primarily from the United States, many may be armed and dangerous.

Declare a nationwide mobilization comparable to our efforts in world war II and going beyond. Make this mobilization on a 5 year timeline because according to all the recent climate data there is minimal time to adapt and mitigate.

These are the demands of the People's Coalition to Survive Climate Food Emergency. Do you agree with these demands? Are they something you would pitch to a friend or family member so they might consider joining the coalition of allies? Are you an ally? Would you send these demands to your MP and to those running against him?

1. Declare a Climate Food Emergency.

This is the realization that if we do not create local food systems, across Canada, capable of feeding everyone, the inevitable collapse of affordable food from agribusiness will lead to collapse of democratic governments.

2. End, immediately, all fossil fuel subsidies, including tax breaks, and begin charging the globally competitive royalty rate. Direct the revenues and savings towards the Climate Food Emergency.

3. Task the Bank of Canada with providing all other needed funding for this transition. Canada is the best able country for currency to survive attacks from global bankers or anyone else. We have the abundant resources and low population for a self-sufficient economy and monetary system.

4. It takes people to farm, people are living in urban areas. Create a program to pay: the water bills for urban farms, retrofits for rainwater and grey water capture, and water storage and irrigation, concentrating on areas with seasonal dryness.

5. Mobilize Canada's armed forces and reserves to help with labour intensive, low carbon footprint solutions. Create a hiring program to enlist other Canadians for Food Emergency work. Encourage immigration with a path to citizenship for those willing and able to help with the Climate Food Emergency.

6. Immediately forbid all clear cutting in the forests of Canada. Give logging companies one year to transition to 0 clear cutting and 100% selective logging. Start massive tree planting programs in areas without dry seasons including primarily food bearing trees.

7. Implement holistic management restorative grazing in areas with seasonal dryness, in 2019, that is Thunder Bay West to Victoria, and North to Inuvik. Allow one year to transition all existing grazers, cows sheep, goats etc to holistic grazing. Subsidize portable fencing.

8. Establish a Guaranteed Livable Income for all citizens. When we are fighting a war against climate food disruption, starvation and breakdown, it is not an option not to pay the soldiers, the people of Canada.

This message is from Women's Food and Water Initiative
Please share. To reinforce our sincerity to have these demands met we are advocating a global tax revolt and non repayment of loans. We need the global banking industry and our democratically elected governments to help us make this unprecedented food and agricultural transition. According to Extinction Rebellion all we need is 3.4% of the population to revolt and we will get out Climate Food Emergency demands met and, hopefully, there will be a very thin chance that some humans will survive The Climate Food Emergency.
