The B.C. Agri-Business Planning Program and B.C. Indigenous Agriculture
Development Program were officially launched Wednesday, October 17th. Here
is the link to the Indigenous News Release:

The two programs are now live and accepting applications:



1.       B.C. Agri-Business Planning Program

a.       Two streams of support for up to $5000 in services from Qualified
Business Consultants:

                                                               i.
Specialized
business planning for eligible B.C. farmers, ranchers, food processors and
agriculture cooperatives ($100 program fee)

                                                             ii.      Disaster
recovery planning and coaching to help farmers and ranchers implement an
immediate and long-term recovery plan

b.      Eligibility requirements:

                                                               i.      B.C.
Primary Agriculture Producer with current B.C. Assessment Authority farm
status.

                                                             ii.      Food
processor processing food, beverage or agricultural products which are
processed and packaged in B.C. with 51% or more of the direct cost
originating in B.C.

                                                            iii.      B.C.
Primary Agriculture or Food Processor Cooperatives.

                                                           iv.      Total
annual gross revenues greater than $30,000/year in the previous tax year

                                                             v.      Disaster
recovery planning requires that applicant was an active farming entity and
living in an area where the local government issued an evacuation alert or
order due to a disaster.



2.       *B.C. Indigenous Agriculture Development Program

a.       Supports the development of agriculture and agrifoods
opportunities within Indigenous Communities:

                                                               i.      Step
1: Agriculture Opportunities Assessment provides up to $5,000 for services
from a Qualified Business Consultant to complete a feasibility assessment
of agricultural development options.

                                                             ii.      Step
2: Agriculture Financial and Business Planning provides up to $10,000 for
services from a Qualified Business Consultant(s) for financial analysis,
specialized business planning and, where required by the project, technical
training/capacity building.

b.      Eligibility Criteria:

                                                               i.
Indigenous
Communities, Tribal Councils, and/or Economic Development Corporations are
eligible

                                                             ii.      Step
1: Band Council Resolution or Letter of Support is required

                                                            iii.      Step
2: Completion of Step 1 or equivalent.
