Project CHEF: Cook Healthy Edible Food<http://www.projectchef.ca/>, is an experiential, curriculum-based school program aimed at children in kindergarten to grade seven that teaches students about healthy food: where it comes from, what it tastes like, how to prepare it and how to enjoy sharing it around a table. Designed to immerse children in the process of cooking from preparation to clean-up, children gain knowledge about food; they discover the pleasure and satisfaction in creating meals for themselves and they develop the skills so that they can apply their new-found knowledge and abilities in making healthy food choices at home.

Project CHEF is a non-profit organization which currently works closely with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Over the last three years Project CHEF has been be integrating into Food Bank programming and by September 2018, Project CHEF will become a program of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The new Project CHEF Coordinator will report to and work collaboratively with the Food Literacy Manager at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and will be responsible for overseeing the Project CHEF program. The Coordinator will spend one year shadowing the Founder and Director of Project CHEF and will over time be responsible for a team of 6-9 people, Project CHEF volunteers and relationships with teachers, supporters and the community at large. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all programming, logistics and curriculum development for the program as well as overseeing the program delivery within the schools.
