We wanted to let you know that the *Placed-Based Food Systems Conference
2018* is now accepting proposals for presentations, manuscripts and
posters.  Please visit the Place-Based Food Systems site at
www/kpu.ca/pbfs2018 <https://www.kpu.ca/pbfs2018> for details and to submit
a proposal. Proposals from both academic institutions and civil society
groups are highly encouraged.  Submitted manuscripts will be subject to
peer review for publication in a special issue of *the Journal of
Agriculture, Food Systems and Community Development*

*Place-Based Food Systems 2018: **Making the Case, Making It Happen*

*This two day conference will bring together academic and community-based
leaders and change-makers who are working to understand and advance
place-based food systems as a foundational element of sustainable society.
Participants will share and learn about the latest research and
on-the-ground experiences and identify directions for strategic,
synergistic, and concerted future study and action. The conference will
touch on 5 dimensions of place-based food-systems:*



·         Economics and sustainable human economies

·         Environmental stewardship and ecological integrity

·         Policy and governance advancing

·         Capacity and scale

·         Indigenous food ways
