Yes, I absolutely agree - it's hard to indicate cynical laughter in an email but that's what the "Ha ha" meant (Meant to indicate this is the only type of recourse our system seems to have). 

 I put more stock in the other view I expressed, which is "productive land is sacrosanct" - plus of course other essentials of life that shouldn't be individually owned, most likely.  But my family background is half Irish, and we're all here in Canada because we got pushed off our land long ago. 
So this challenge of how to ensure the productive life-sustaining aspects of a country are sustained and benefit its people continues, and is a great thing to be working on.
