*National Farm to School Grants Posted *

As announced on November 13th, Farm to Cafeteria Canada is currently
offering an exciting Farm to School grant opportunity for all schools in BC
(and Ontario) funded through the Whole Kids Foundation
<https://www.wholekidsfoundation.org/> and in partnership with Farm to
School BC <http://farmtoschoolbc.ca/modules.php?name=Farmtoschool>and Sustain
Ontario <http://sustainontario.com/>.

Grant Guidelines and Application can be found on the Farm to Cafeteria
Canada website here
<http://www.farmtocafeteriacanada.ca/2015/12/farm-to-school-grant-bc-and-on-guidelines/>.
It is expected that up to 25 grants valued at up to $10,000 each will be
awarded in BC. All schools in BC are encouraged to apply, including those
schools who have received Farm to School BC grant funding in the past - the
funder is very interested in supporting existing programs and scaling up
the amazing Farm to School work that is happening throughout the province.

The grants are designed to support comprehensive Farm to School programs

that focus on a salad bar model in additional to supporting hands-on
learning opportunities for students and community connections. Schools with
an existing salad bar programs are encouraged to apply to further develop
additional components of their programs.

One of the grant requirements includes the need for schools to have a
secondary applicant who can support the program from outside of the school.
It is likely that many members of this network would be eligible to fill
this role for the schools, with space in the grant budget structure to
support involvement.
