[Vancouver Island Young Agrarians]

Calling all new and young(ish and at heart) farmers, seasoned farmers and
want-to-be-farmers!  Folks from across Vancouver Island and the Gulf
Islands will be gathering for the Young Agrarians 4th Vancouver Island
Winter Mixer on January 28-29, 2017. Join us for two full days bursting
with information, skills sharing, networking and phenomenal foods.

Get inspired, hone your farm skills, and build connections with other new
farmers. Join us for practical sessions with successful farmers featuring:
holistic land management, crop planning, business and financial management,
land leasing, Indigenous land and food systems, conflict resolution, and so
much more!

When: Saturday, January 28 -  Sunday, January 29, 2017

Where: Coast Salish Territory - Camp Pringle, 2520 West Shawnigan Lake Rd,
Shawnigan Lake, BC

Cost: Sliding scale $75-150. Work trades are available

The 4th Vancouver Island Winter Mixer’s  range of sessions will appeal to
everybody with an interest in maintaining and preserving the local food
system, including farmers, homesteaders and gardeners. “YA Mixers provide a
great excuse for getting together with other farmers to learn, socialize,
and share resources during the dark days of winter.” Tristan Cavers, Golden
Ears Farm (Chase, BC).

Can’t come to the whole event? Join in the Saturday Night Community
Potluck!

When: 6:00pm-9:30pm, Saturday, January 28 2017

Where: Coast Salish Territory - Camp Pringle, Shawnigan Lake, 2520 West
Shawnigan Lake Rd, Shawnigan Lake, BC

The Community Potluck is free and open to all ages - just bring a dish to
share. Invite your friends and family—the more, the merrier!
