A quick update for you. 18,893 people have signed the Coast Protectors
pledge

we are almost to our fundraising goal! What an incredible and amazing
response. We thank you.

If are able to support and to participate, there are two community rallies
this weekend.

On Saturday December 10, a rally of grassroots Sto:lo and neighbours will
be held at Five Corners in Chilliwack, BC. It will begin at noon.

On Sunday December 11, there will be a march with the Kwantlen First Nation
through Fort Langley, BC. This one starts at 1:30 PM.

Please find the following details. We ask you to bring two friends or
simply pass on this email to five of your friends.

A rally of grassroots Sto:lo and our non-native neighbours to voice our
opposition to the federal government's recent approval of Kinder Morgan's
expanded pipeline!

Speakers include Grand Chief Stewart Phillip and Joan Phillip; Carrielynn
Victor, Sto:lo artist and activist; Peter McCartney, climate campaigner for
the Wilderness Committee, and Michael Hale, local activist with the PIPE UP
network.

Sto:lo elder Eddie Gardner will give the traditional welcoming and opening
remarks.

The venue: Five Corners is a public area between the Provincial courthouse
and the Clock Tower in downtown Chilliwack, off Yale Road East. Parking is
at the courthouse parking lot and, kitty corner to the courthouse, still on
Yale Rd. E., is the Safeway Parking lot.

Two years ago the community came together to march with the Kwantlen First
Nation through Fort Langley and now, with the federal approval of the
Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion, the time has come again to stand with
Kwantlen in solidarity.

We will not allow this pipeline expansion to be built, we will stand with
the Kwantlen First Nation in their continued opposition to this expansion.

Join us on December 11 @ 1:30 pm in Fort Langley at the community hall
(9167 Glover Rd). From there we will march to the Fort. Speakers will be at
the begining of the event and will be from the Kwantlen Nation, local
activists, and leaders in the fight against Kinder Morgan.

PLEASE PARK AWAY FROM THE COMMUNITY HALL IF YOU CAN! There is parking at
the fort, along billy brown road, and at the sports feild when you turn
right, right after the bridge (Gabriel ln)
