School Food Programs are increasingly seen as key factors to promote the
physical and mental health of students. This webinar series aims to promote
promising models of School Food Programs with the goal of improving the
scope and quality of programs across Canada. The first webinar will
showcase the School Food Programs in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and
Labrador that are the closest in Canada to having universal reach.

 _Les programmes alimentaires scolaires sont de plus en plus perçus comme
étant des facteurs essentiels à la santé physique et mentale des
élèves. Cette série de webinaires a pour objectif de faire la promotion
des différents modèles prometteurs de programmes alimentaires scolaires
au Canada et ailleurs dans l'espoir d'améliorer la portée et la qualité
des programmes d'alimentation scolaire au Canada. Le premier webinaire de
cette série traitera de l'universalité, et présentera les programmes
alimentaires scolaires en Nouvelle-Écosse et à Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador
qui ont la particularité d'être presque universels_.

DOLLARS & SENSE: DIGGING INTO LOCAL FOOD OPPORTUNITIES

Published in January 2015, Dollars & Sense: Opportunities to Strengthen
Southern Ontario's Food System encompasses the first research of its kind
in Canada on the economic and environmental impacts of food production in
southern Ontario, where roughly 98 percent of the province's food is
produced. Join two of the report's authors, Dr. Rod McRae and Dr. Atif
Kurbursi, and moderator Beth Hunter, Program Director with the McConnell
Foundation, for a special 90-minute webinar on April 27th to discuss their
findings and understand the research process behind Dollars & Sense and its
extensive background reports.
