The BC Rural Network will be participating in the Canadian Rural
Revitalization Foundation's upcoming conference, presenting on a Panel
discussion regarding 'Strategies to Recruit and Retain Youth in Rural
Canada'.

 New Realities, New Relationships: The annual Canadian Rural Revitalization
Foundation (CRRF) conference hosted by the Community Development Institute
(CDI) at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) will be
held *September
25-27, 2014 in Prince George, BC.*
The agenda will include two days of plenary sessions and workshops
featuring national experts in rural and resource sector development, along
with local and regional presenters.
Presentations will focus on the restructuring of rural relationships,
building capacity for organizations and governance, building economic
resilience, and pursuing a high quality of life for rural communities.

*Grants and Opportunities for Rural Communities *

 *NEW Cycling Infrastructure Partnerships Program (CIPP):* For projects
that can be completed within one year of funding approval. The Ministry of
Transportation and Infrastructure is pleased to announce the continuation
of the Cycling Infrastructure Partnerships Program (CIPP) for 2014-15. The
CIPP is a cost-shared program where the Government of British Columbia will
partner with local governments in the construction of new transportation
cycling infrastructure. *The deadline for applications is September 30,

*NEW  **Environment Canada's EcoAction Funding: *Supports community-based,
non-profit organizations for projects that have measurable, positive
impacts on the environment with action focused projects that will protect,
rehabilitate or enhance the natural environment and build the capacity of

*NEW  **Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation Enhancement and Restoration
Funding: *For projects that focus on freshwater fish, native wildlife
species and their habitats, have the potential to achieve a significant
conservation outcome, while maintaining or enhance opportunities for
fishing, hunting, trapping, wildlife viewing and associated outdoor

*NEW  **Wildlife Habitat Canada: *Funded by the Canadian Wildlife Habitat
Conservation Stamp purchased by waterfowl hunters, WHC primarily supports
projects that address priority activities under the North American
Waterfowl Management Plan and habitat projects of importance to other
migratory game birds. Projects are funded for 2015-16 fiscal year. *The

*NEW  **Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program: *The Fish and Wildlife
Compensation Program (FWCP) supports local stewardship groups, First
Nations, agencies and others to deliver fish and wildlife projects in
alignment with its Action Plans. Your idea for a project could be eligible
for funding. This year the FWCP is offering three funding options. *Deadline

*  CLOSING SOON  **BC Hydro Community Champions*: Is your not-for-profit
group engaging your community and helping make British Columbia more
sustainable? We want to hear about it. We're looking for non-profits
focused on sustainability and the environment. By showing British
Columbians how you're making a difference, your group could earn a $10,000
conservation award. Students and schools can get involved too. Starting
October 15, B.C. classrooms can support their favourite finalist and share
how the non-profit has inspired them to make a difference. Up to 25
classrooms will receive a $1,000 award for a sustainability project at
their school. Voting is also open to the public. *Non-profit submissions
are open from August 15 to September 30, 2014.  *Winners announced December

*ECE Bursary: *The Early Childhood Educators of BC has received funding
from the Ministry of Children and Family Development to establish a bursary
fund for students enrolled in early childhood educational programs. To
respond to identified needs, priority will be given to: Aboriginal
students; Students attending early childhood educational programs with an
Aboriginal focus, and; Students working to achieve an infant/toddler
educator designation. Students will be able to apply for up to $300 per
course, to a maximum of $1,500 per semester.

Bursary applications for the Fall 2014 semester will be available at
www.ecebc.ca on Friday, July 18, 2014. *The deadline for Fall 2014 bursary
application submissions to the ECEBC office is Friday, November 7,

*Tire Stewardship BC's Community Grant Program: *Registered non-profit
organizations, local governments, schools, and First Nations may now apply
to Tire Stewardship BC (TSBC) for a matching grant of up to $30,000 for
community improvement projects that will use BC recycled tire products. To
be eligible for a TSBC grant, projects must use BC recycled rubber and be
fully public and wheelchair accessible. Projects include but are not
limited to, pour in place or rubber tile surfacing for playgrounds, water
parks or fitness areas, walkways, running tracks, or playing fields.The
application intake period will remain open until *December 31, 2014*. To

*Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW):*  A federal-provincial
initiative designed to increase the employment prospects of Canada's Older
Workers living in Eligible Communities.Older Workers, living in communities
undergoing restructuring or other labour market challenges often face
greater barriers to re-employment than core-age (ages 25-54) members of the
labour force when they lose their jobs. In British Columbia, TIOW projects
provide these Older Workers with programming aimed at increasing their
employability and reintegrating them into employment. The Ministry of Jobs,
Tourism and Skills Training (the Ministry) wishes to solicit proposals from
qualified Proponents interested in developing and delivering Projects
in Eligible Communities. The RFP invites responses from Proponents, and if
successful to act as a Project Sponsor for Projects from the date of
completion of the procurement process to March 31, 2017. *The Request for

*Toronto 2015* *Pan & Parapan American Games Community Celebrations Fund:* The
Department of Canadian Heritage has established the Toronto 2015 Pan &
Parapan American Games - Community Celebrations Fund (the Fund) to
celebrate Canada hosting the 2015 Games. The Fund can support a wide
variety of projects related to the 2015 Games, including: commemorative
activities and events, community events that celebrate local athletes,
learning materials, plaques and monuments, theatrical and musical
performances, artwork, etc. Eligible funding recipients include: Canadian
not-for-profit organizations; Canadian business corporations, where
projects are non-commercial in nature; Canadian schools; Canadian
municipal, provincial and territorial governments, and their institutions.

youth, Youth Forums  Canada are workshops and conferences that connect

music. Participants meet in a central location and spend time exchanging
ideas, learning about Canada and exploring a unique Canadian community.
