Community Services Recovery Fund to hire a temporary ED. Please share

Terms of Employment: 1-year contract position (with potential for
multi-year contract) 20 hours per week, year round Salary commensurate with
experience, up to $45/hour Reports To: Board of Directors, Bella Coola
Foodshed Alliance

Overview: The Bella Coola Foodshed Alliance (BCFA) is a registered
non-profit society that supports the vision and development of a resilient,
self-reliant food system that feeds generations of Bella Coola valley
residents healthy, nourishing food. The society operates on unceded,
sovereign Nuxalk Territory.

The BCFA is growing and we are looking for an Executive Director to help
lead the organization as it continues to offer many diverse programs. As
the Executive Director you will help maintain the existing programs while
ensuring their long-term sustainability and growth. You will bring strong
management, administrative, and relational skills to uphold and build
connections with our diverse stakeholders, membership, and funders.

Areas of responsibility Working with the Board of Directors and food
security coordinator, your key areas of responsibility will include
(details available on request): • Community engagement • Program management
• Financial planning, grant writing, and reporting • Annual reporting •
Strategic planning • Organizational development • Communications and
advocacy This contract position comes with financial resources for
training.

Required skills: Communication and relationship-building; Knowledge of
Different Computer and Social media platforms; Community Engagement;
Management and General Operations Skills; Strong writing skills - Grant
Writing and Fund Development; Volunteer Coordination Skills; Website
Maintenance.

Preferred knowledge and background: Understanding of BC non-profit sector
operations and management; Demonstrated experience leading and growing
non-profits; Experience and connections related to food systems and food
security; Demonstrated capacity to work independently; self-motivated and
driven ;Understanding of BC rural and remote contexts; Experience in
decolonizing and diverse environments.

Located in Bella Coola and/or willing to relocate/travel frequently.
