Mullein is an easy to grow, low maintenance cash crop that is drought tolerant.

Demizine Technology is accepting proposals from certified organic
farms for production of Great Mullein, Verbascum
thapsus.

Demizine is prepared to offer $0.35 cents per flowering stalk. The
plant grows about 60cm in diameter. With a modest harvest you can
expect $5000/acre from a field that would otherwise be used for grain.

AND

An additional (optional) $.10 per clipped root if parties are
interested - the root is shallow growing and modest in size.

Great Mullein is
-
Biennial (we are looking for the flower stalk, which occurs in the 2nd year).
- Very drought tolerant, but also responsive to good soil and irrigation.
- Prolific, making a great number of tiny long lived s
eeds but is harvested prior
 to seeding. It
is also easy to kill with tillage and not usually considered a
problematic weed.

We had fun growing this plant on Salt Spring Island last year and now
we need to expand the acreage with some contracts.

Demizine Technology is able to provide organic certifiable coated
seeds to anyone interested in growing this plant.

Please contact James at phytochemconsulting.ca to express interest and
schedule a phone or zoom conversation.
