Hello BCFSN,

We wanted to inform you that the Vancouver Food Policy Council’s current term ends on April 30th, 2021, and the City is now accepting applications from members of the public to serve on the VFPC’s next term (May 2021 – December 2022). The application period is open from March 16th – 31st at https://vancouver.ca/volunteer

The Vancouver Food Policy Council (VFPC) is a volunteer committee that advises staff and Council on the implementation of the Vancouver Food Strategy and food policy more broadly. Before applying, you can review more information about the VFPC on the City’s website<https://vancouver.ca/your-government/vancouver-food-policy-council.aspx>, and review information about eligibility requirements for membership here<https://vancouver.ca/your-government/eligibility-requirements-for-boards-committees.aspx>. You can also find out more about the VFPC’s membership structure, which is informed both by “expertise” and “lived experience” here<http://www.vancouverfoodpolicycouncil.ca/about/current-members/>.

We would greatly appreciate if you could circulate this information to others in your community who may be interested.

If you have questions about this opportunity, or you would like copies of this recruiting announcement in other languages, please feel free to reach out to the Food Policy team directly at foodpolicy at vancouver.ca<mailto:foodpolicy at vancouver.ca>.

Best wishes,
