Thanks Abra and Linda for initiating this.
The Provincial Health Association of BC has launched a interactive site for discussion of COVID: “PlaceSpeak”. Wondering if something like that might be useful for us, and /or if anyone in our network has the capacity to set this sort of thing up. But I also think it would be helpful to have an online discussion to start things off.

Best to all, Barb

Hello all,

Many of us who are deeply involved in supporting our respective community's food systems are experiencing huge demand on our time and resources as we all struggle to figure out how to best survive the COVID-19 outbreak.

The BC Food Systems Network came together in 1999 to enable us to better support each other in our work by sharing information and problem solving together.

We would like to launch a conversation on this listserv to enable us to share our successes, our challenges and to support each other as we work to ensure that, through this pandemic and into the future, our community members are well nourished.

If you know others who would also benefit from information sharing please feel free to forward this email to them and they can subscribe to the listserve to receive or share information. The information on how to sign up or remove emails from the e-list is included at the bottom of each posting to the listerve.

in good food - together!

"Social justice does not come from passivity or non-caring. Justice must be struggled for. That is what life is, or should be all about - striving for justice. Not only or primarily as individuals, but as members of larger communities." Ursula Franklin
