"Rather than concentrating on what sort of food is healthy for the
individual person, we must think about what kind of production system is
healthy for the globe. Acting in the context of this vision of a different
kind of food system, we will gain the freedom - and the power - to force
change for some measure of justice in this one." Cathleen Kneen, 1987

JUSTICE

At long last, our latest report *Ecological Farm Internships: Models,
Experiences and Justice* report is ready to share. This report builds from
the day-long workshop we held last fall in Toronto.

We sent this around to a bunch of folks for a final review and we received
overwhelmingly positive feedback. While there are some critical challenges
for the future of food and agricultural movements in Canada, the report
provides a thoughtful and grounded discussion of ecological farm
internships and related issues with contributions from farmers, interns,
non-profits and lawyers. We are very happy with the content and
presentation and think that the report will make an important contribution
to the issue of farm work and education. We hope it fosters critical
conversations that can take the ecological farming sector forward.

Please share the report through your networks and encourage folks to send
us feedback and continue the conversation.

I have attached the report to this email and it is also available on our
website (along with a feedback form and our contact information):
http://www.foodandlabour.ca/

If people have inquires about the report, please send them to me (
clevkoe at lakehead.ca), Mike Ekers (mekers at utsc.utoronto.ca) or
foodlabour at utsc.utoronto.ca.

Best,
