ENVIRONMENT & HEALTH (EHSI) INTERSECTORAL PREVENTION FUNDING OPPORTUNITY

The Institute of Population and Public Health is pleased to announce the
launch of the Intersectoral Prevention Research funding opportunity, a key
component of the CIHR Environments and Health Signature Initiative focusing
on research in three priority areas: agri-food production, resource

This webinar will help participants learn more about Constructive
Engagement, and explore the potential for their participation in a special
Food Policy Constructive Engagement online workshop later in the fall of
2015. Constructive Engagement expert Sean Moore [10] will deliver the
webinar, with federal food policy expert Rod MacRae [11] helping to craft
and deliver the later workshop.

KEEPING SEED IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN - SEED BANKS & LIBRARIES

Community seed is a movement gaining momentum across Canada. From public
libraries and mobile seed collections, to local non-profits and community
gardens, people are increasingly working to keep diverse seed in the hands
of the people. Join us to hear more about the "why" and the "how" of
keeping high quality seed by and for the community. Introduction from Bob
Wildfong (Seeds of Diversity), with featured speakers: Axel Diederechsen
(Plant Gene Resources Canada), Matthew Kemshaw (Environmental Youth
Alliance), and Rupert Adams (Kairos Botanicals, Salt Spring Seeds).

A NATIONAL FOOD POLICY COUNCIL FOR CANADA

Join Rod MacRae, Sasha McNicoll and Keith Robinson for a discussion of a
National Food Policy for Canada. What would a National Food Policy Council
for Canada [16] look like? The webinar will provide essential background on
the issue and introduce Food Secure Canada's draft federal legislation [17]
to create this forum, modelling on previous para-governmental structures
such as the National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy and the
International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development (Rights &
Democracy).

BASIC INCOME - GIVING CANADIANS A SOLID FLOOR TO STAND ON

all political parties to commit to taking real action against poverty and

income as well as CFCC's Chief Operating Officer, Kathryn Scharf and Food
Secure Canada's Director, Diana Bronson, who will speak about how people
across Canada can join Eat Think Vote -- a national campaign for food
