Food Business Bootcamp ~ Relaunch Join us September 24th for the first
session of the season! *Entrepreneurs of all shapes and sizes are
working to promote healthy, local, and sustainable food that is accessible
to all. But running a successful values-based business is no piece of cake.
The Food Business Bootcamp is a program that draws on food business experts
from across Canada and North America to help foster vibrant, viable
businesses and knowledgeable entrepreneurs.* Information technology:
choosing the right systems for your food enterprise

Choosing a mobile device these days can be overwhelming, never mind
selecting the best information technology system for your food business.
Yet understanding both your needs and the range of options to meet them can
save you critical money in both the start up and ongoing phase of your
operation. Join us on September 24th at 2PM Atlantic / 10 AM Pacific, for
an in-depth session with Saloni Doshi, Strategy Consultant with New Venture
Advisors <http://newventureadvisors.net/team.html>. The session is suitable
for those in the planning and start up phase as well as established
businesses needing to revisit their IT suite. Saloni will provide a
framework for food entrepreneurs to assess their technology needs,
structure a search for technology solutions, and evaluate and select the
right technology solutions for their needs. For more information and to

   Demystifying Food Safety

What really is required to produce safe food as well as what is obligatory
under law can seem like a frightening maze. Yet providing safe food
consistently is key to an enterprise reputation and brand. Food
Technologist, Sylvia Caldwell <http://foundtree.ca/about/>, will walk
webinar attendees through the requirements for small and medium sized
businesses. The workshop goal is to provide participants with information
so that they can assess their own regulatory and food safety position and
determine what they need for their food enterprise planning. Watch FSC
Events <http://foodsecurecanada.org/resources-news/events-calendar> for
date and registration information.
Managing Risk - it's risky business not to!

Ryan Turnbull of EcoEthonomics <http://ecoethonomics.ca/?page_id=45> will
dive into managing risk for small to medium size agri-food social
enterprises. He will explore the types of risk, creating a risk profile for
your enterprise, developing mitigation strategies, and establishing ongoing
risk management. Coming to a computer monitor near you this autumn...

Treating Human Resources like Human Beings...and Getting the Job Done

Russ Christianson of Rhythm Communications
<http://www.ontario.coop/edirectory/rhythm_communications> will walk
webinar participants through the finer points of managing your staff so as
to ensure that the relationship is healthy, legal, mutually beneficial, and
clear. Watch FSC Events for date and registration information.
